Turntable provides many opportunities for upgrade and tweaking. The most popular upgrade is fitting a better cartridge. Sometimes, upgrades can be more radical, like changing the tone arm or power supply.
Tweaking is not as radical as upgrades, and it is usually easily reversible. Tweaking brings subtle changes to turntable sound. Some of the more popular turntable tweaks are mat change or record-weight adding.
Both upgrades and tweaking can bring dramatic changes in the sound of the turntable. Those changes could be both positive and negative.
